Günter Grass, 1927-2015

German author and Nobel Prize winner Günter Grass dies at age 87 (13 April 2015). The left-wing author of “The Tin Drum” (1959), who often acted as a moral authority in post-World War II Germany, was no stranger to controversy, including his later revealed service in a Nazi special forces unit and criticism of Israel’s position towards Iran.
