Results announced a few hours after the closing of voting in Turkey indicate that the AKP is far from attaining the number of MPs that would allow it to amend the Constitution. Furthermore, the AKP may not be in a position to establish a single-party government. Erdogan’s announced plan to transform Turkey’s political system seems to have been rejected by the Turkish people.
